While snowboarding at Mount Seymour in 98, Sam was given a compilation C/D with a tune by Ben Harper called "Gold To Me", before it was played out he was inspired to buy Ben's album and in the insert of "Welcome to the Crule World" there was a picture of a Shubb Peirce tone bar. He took that picture to the local music shop, forked over 50$, and 6 years later he started calling himself a lapslide session player.
Sam has played on several albums and spent the last 3 years devoted to guitar and songwriting. He had a long 2 year stint at Studio 58 where he studied theatre. After discovering he was no damn good at acting and all the work that was suppose to be building strong acting skills was manifesting itself in musical expression, made the difficult decision to leave the theatre and play music. It was only through the trials at school did he acknowledge that his heart was truely set on music and not pursuing thesbian endeavors.
Sam is thrilled to have just completed his third attempt at his first E.P., and is preparing to record a full length album in May. Sam lives and works in the surrogate hometown of Calgary, Alberta where he moved to last year from Vancouver B.C.
